these are the photos i took when i was lying in the hallway in the hospital, which was for about three nights. the cowbell on my nightstand is what they gave me to call the nurses with, and the thing that looks like a pocket watch hanging from the bannister is a portable ash tray Ellen gave me for christmas that i use to keep ear plugs in. that bannister was the only good thing about being in the hallway, when i had pain attacks i would grip it so hard it nearly gave me splinters.

the hospital rooms had your usual string to pull/button to push, but patients aren't supposed to lie in the hallways (though they do), so i guess that's as good as it gets. kind of annoying for a shy/polite person in agonising pain, i'll say.

did you already explain to me why you were lying in the hallway.. ? i remember you saying something about sharing a room, but lying in the hallway is a pretty extreme case of sharing.

thanks math. i did share a room with other people twice, but when they moved me from one part of the hospital to another the rooms were full i had to lie in the hallway a little while. your mail with all the links was great, that girl especially is incredible. we'll hang out soon! xxxk
Hey Kier, these photo's are terrific, as in also the terrifying. I think I missed the bit where you said why you were in hospital? The photo's remind me of the shining or something, long corridors at night, the tapping sounds of different medication being dripped into life streams.

jonny, i was in the hospital for a gallbladder infection. i have to back in soon to have my gallbladder removed 'cause i have gallstones, but it's a small surgery. hospitals are such a strange mix of the clinical and dead, and attempted hospitality, but just ends up in the hell in between. thanks a lot about the photos. oh yeah, i mailed you, xx
