the weaklings

I'm gonna be in this group show in London in june, curated by Dennis Cooper, called The Weaklings. It's at Five Years, and if you're around you should go! There's an unbelievable amount of talent in the show, and several of my favourite artists are in it. You can read about the show and what it's about below.

"Recent works by some of the artists who also hang around [DC's] sometimes, Volume Six"

Photobucket

loveliest of curators Dennis Cooper is showcasing some works by artists and writers who frequent his blog this weekend. my drawings (above) are in there (though not recent), along with a seriously daunting lineup of little godlings and their works. i'm particularly into those by Nick/put the lotion in the basket, Oscar B, Thomas Moore, Alex Rose, Nicholas Cook and TM Davy, but that's probably just until i go through it all again and fall for the rest. so you should check it out, it will decidedly charge you up.

it's at the top of the blog's front page all weekend, or permalink here.

weaklings

i was in london at the beginning of this month to see Dennis Cooper and Gisèle Vienne's theater piece "Jerk", and to meet the people up above in the photos and more. all these photos were taken by Dennis, the first are from just before "Jerk", and the last picture is the backstage monitor of the show. i'm the fluorescently pale one, and the one behind me is the kind gentleman who let me crash with him for the duration of my stay.

"Jerk" was one of the most powerful things i've ever seen, and my jaw is permanently dropped at the insane talent of the sole performer, Jonathan Capdevielle. here's a clip of him in french, though we saw the english version:

here's Gisèle talking about it, in english:
