Ragnarökr, gudenes ende

i'm gonna try to make my computer drawings (more) halloweeny for the rest of the month, 'cause it's my favourite time of year.

the reason there haven't been any drawings for a few days was because of a lofty request, made by Wolf: "Ragnarok, a tryptic." so here it is:

i included Fenris, the wolf, child of Loke, who kills Odin at Ragnarok.

in the middle is Odin's eight legged horse Sleipner, who was mothered by Loke transformed as a mare.

the snow is Fimbulvinter, the long winter that comes before Ragnarok.

the lightning is from Tor's hammer.

Yggdrasil is "the world tree," which exists in nine worlds.

the erupting mountains are the immense natural disasters that come about at Ragnarok, as the world sinks into the sea.

the Midgard Serpent ("the world serpent") is also a child of Loke, and a sea serpent. he grew so big that he was able to surround the earth and grasp his own tail. when he lets go, the world will end. the serpent and Tor kill each other at Ragnarok.

the runes are Elder Futhark, which is the earliest form of runes.
