Bill Cunningham on the street

i don't read street-style blogs because i tend to find them repetitive, and because they depress me. Bill Cunningham's (that's him with his bicycle) street-style column on the other hand, i'm a huge fan of. i watch the photo-slideshows with his commentary (twice) every saturday and they make me a happier person. he's incredibly well-versed in fashion, but he's also genuinely excited by everything from form and function, to people-watching. he has shot street fashion for many many years, and still shoots all his photos on film. there's a great article on him over at Jezebel, and you can see his photos and hear his commentary here at ny times. i promise you'll feel better afterwards (especially if you watch the one called The Water Dance at the bottom of the page, or if you want some fashion history relating to today, watch the one called Framed).
