yeah, alex's work is absolutely incredible. he is definitely an influence, yeah, but i've been keeping these notebooks for about 5 years, so they're not a product of his influence. i've also never used notebooks as a part of a finished work, they're just scrapbooks i keep for myself, unlike alex who does really great work with notebooks as part of a work.
